Palworld: A Guide to Using the Smelter

Palworld A Guide to Using the Smelter

In Palworld, as you advance, the demands for constructing more advanced items for your base increase significantly. Materials like Wood and Stone become less essential as you unlock more complex technologies. Eventually, you'll need Pals to handle these tasks, as you won't be able to operate these machines yourself.

Understanding which Pals can perform which tasks and how to optimize your base for their efficiency is crucial. This becomes apparent early on when you construct the Primitive Furnace.

The Primitive Furnace is an item unlocked with Technology Points after reaching Level 10. Building it requires 20 Wood, 50 Stone, and ten Flame Organs, which can be obtained by defeating or capturing fiery Pals like Foxparks and Roobys.

It's advisable to place the furnace outdoors, as Pals might not recognize it if it's inside a building. Even if they are idle with no other tasks, they won't work on the furnace if they can't "see" it.

Using the furnace requires fire, a task that you cannot perform. Instead, you'll need a Pal capable of Kindling. The higher the Kindling level of the Pal, the better they'll be at crafting items at the furnace.

The primary use of the furnace is to make Ingots, which require two Ores. As you progress in the game, you'll need a large number of Ingots, so it's essential to gather Ore whenever possible.

Early in the game, the same Pals that drop Flame Organs are capable of Kindling: Foxparks and Rooby. Foxparks are commonly found around the Grassy Behemoth Hills, located between the Plateau of Beginnings and the Tower of Rayne. Rooby can be found on the chain of islands west of the starting location, in the Sea Breeze Archipelago.
